Headwear Care Guide: Keeping Your Sybarite Piece Looking Its Best

1. Washing: Hand wash only in cold water with a gentle, mild detergent. Do not machine wash — agitation can distort the shape and damage delicate fabrics like linen.

2. Rinsing: Rinse thoroughly with cold water until all detergent is removed. Avoid hot water at all stages as it can cause shrinkage and colour fading.

3. Drying: Do not wring or twist. Gently press out excess water with a clean towel, then reshape by hand and lay flat or hang to air dry in a well-ventilated area. Avoid direct sunlight while drying to prevent colour fading.

4. Shaping: Reshape your headwrap or hat while still damp to maintain its structure. For hats, stuff lightly with tissue paper to help hold the crown shape as it dries.

5. Ironing: If needed, iron on a low to medium heat setting while the piece is slightly damp. For linen headwraps, use a pressing cloth to protect the fabric surface. Avoid ironing any embellishments or printed areas directly.

6. Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from humidity and direct sunlight. Fold headwraps loosely to avoid permanent crease lines. Store hats upright or on a hat stand to preserve their shape.

7. Colour Care: Wash separately for the first few washes to prevent colour transfer, especially for darker or richly dyed pieces. Cold water washing helps maintain colour vibrancy over time.

8. Linen Care: Linen naturally softens and becomes more comfortable with each wash. Some light wrinkling is characteristic of the fabric — a light iron or steam will restore a crisp finish when desired.

Your Sybarite headwear is crafted with care and quality materials. Treat it gently and it will remain a beautiful, wearable accessory for years to come. Any questions? We’re always happy to help.

Is yellow too bold for a headwrap? That's why you want it — yellow is a declaration of energy, warmth, and presence. In South African culture, vibrant colours in headwear are an act of celebration, not excess.

Is this easy to put on? Yes — it's pre-sewn, which means no wrapping, no tutorials, no failed attempts. Place it on your head, adjust the folds, and step out looking like you spent an hour on it.

What outfits work with yellow? White, black, orange, green — yellow is the anchor colour that holds any look together. It works with African prints and plain outfits equally.
